For example, one of the reasons I really like this video is because the people who were talking about it seemed to have a friend who works at Facebook, and who has a Facebook page as well.

It’s a fact that people who are in the habit of interacting on social media are more likely to be in contact with their contacts than they are with people they know personally. And also, it’s a fact that people who are a lot less likely to interact with their friends online are more likely to interact with people they know personally. So it’s a little bit of a double-edged sword: it’s good for business, but bad for social relationships.

The good side of social media for companies is for those in the company to get a ton of leads from their customers. This is because its more likely that your sales associate who just got off the phone in the bathroom when he saw a customer who would like to buy something from them will be looking for a sales opportunity than a sales associate who called you because they were going to meet with a client face to face.

What this means for your business is that you are going to be left on the outside looking in. The bad side of this is for the company to have to deal with a sales associate who they can’t be trusted to follow up with.
