point to you

I’m not a fan of point-to-you advertising. It seems like a bit of a contradiction, the idea that you can’t just pick up a phone and call a random person, right? If you want to be memorable and appear “you”, then you’re going to have to remember to point to yourself.

That’s because it’s an easy way to get noticed. Point-to-you advertising is a bit like a big billboard on the side of the road. The point of it is to get your message across, and you never know if a passerby sees it or not. It’s a pretty effective way to get a response from a random stranger who might be a total stranger to you.

I know that there are many “people” on this site, and many people know how to respond. Their response is, “Why do you do this?” Of course, I don’t know about you, but I’m sure it’s a bit of a stretch for them to be able to respond, but these are just a few small things, and there are a whole bunch of “people” out there who can do that.

The point is, there are ways to make a little bit of noise and get a response. I can’t say that I get it every time, but I get it a lot. I have yet to try it myself, but I will. I have a feeling that someone out there, or just about anyone, would like the point.

Just because you’ve heard or read something about someone does not mean they’re going to respond. There are a million ways for a person to get a response. As long as you’re not getting one, you might as well keep on thinking like you have.

I know this. I know because I have heard or read about things. Sure, I don’t always respond, but if I hear it from someone I get a little bit of a response. Thats how I learned to write. If I hear something and I know I can use it in my writing, I’ll take it to heart and try to act on it. I do write a lot of blog posts, but I also try to write my own blog posts when I have to.

I think I have a habit of responding to things that have already been sent to me. I have had that happen just a few times, but I always feel as if I’m being a little bit paranoid about it. I don’t think I’ve ever been rude to someone who hasn’t sent something to me. But you know what? I dont care. If I do know I can use it in my writing, I will.

I think one of my biggest pet peeves is when people send me a blog post theyve already written asking for my help in the future. It sounds so self-centered that I can’t help but wonder why they have to send a second request just to get a response back. I get so frustrated by it. I like to think that since I am not a writer, I can get to the bottom of things and get to the point without having to read your whole post in my head.

That is a good point, and an even better reason not to respond to a request. You can use your writing to inform and entertain people, but if you have to constantly repost the same request, I just don’t think you have an audience.

I’ve really not done much writing in the last several months. I’ve only written an entire book on the subject of content, so I really haven’t done any more to write for it. I’ve mostly been at the point where I have a strong desire to write more, but the reason I can’t and don’t have more is because I am a very short-term writer.
